About GemSize.org

GemSize.org is a virtual tool for comparing and learning about gemstone shapes and sizes. It enables you to compare actual gem sizes of different shapes and colors, which you can view on a ring and finger of arbitrary dimensions. This will give you a pretty good idea about finger coverage of a certain gem on a certain finger size. It will also neatly show you the face-up size difference of two gems.

Please note: GemSize.org is not a commercial site and does not sell gemstones or jewelry of any kind. Its only purpose is to inform and educate.

Who Made It And Why?

This website was created and is maintained by one person only, and that would be me – Gregor. Here's a little something about me: I'm not a gemologist, I'm an IT guy with an interest in geology and I do appreciate minerals and gems of any kind. Why have I made it? In 2013 I launched diamdb.com, a similar website that offers in-depth info on diamonds. People liked it and some asked me, if I could create something similar for all gemstones. Well, this is your answer.

While gemsize.org doesn't go into such depth as diamdb.com (which is the place to go, if you're interested in diamonds), it offers the main attraction – the ring & finger "simulator" as people tend to describe it.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll enjoy it here!

Gregor
